How to Cultivate a Creative and Happy Workplace
According to the World Economic Forum, creativity is one of the most important skills people will be need over the next 3-5 years. But how are today's workplaces cultivating the conditions for creativity to thrive? Michael Peng is a Partner at world-renowned design and innovation firm IDEO and Managing Director at IDEO Tokyo. Inside the walls of IDEO, designers from different backgrounds work collaboratively, in a space full of creative energy, in a culture that celebrates the values "Talk Less, Do More," "Be Optimistic," and "Make Others Successful." In his keynote talk, Michael will talk about the importance of nurturing one's own "Creative Well-Being" and how it can help drive an organization's culture of creativity — ultimately leading to a more engaged, fulfilled, and happy workforce.

Keynote Speech. Conflicts, stress, and incompatibility:
supplement if the organization knows, poison if it doesn't know.
No matter how well educated you are, no matter how much you want to emulate the leadership of a great man, logic alone does not work like my heart. It is because human thought and behavior are largely affected by the 'feeling' that the brain sends out signals. However, in most organizations, they don’t like employees to express their feelings. Aoto, a brain neuroscientist who is innovating in the government, business and education circles in Japan, says, "There is a limit to suppress people's uncontrollable emotions and manage organizations with logic alone," adding, "The stronger logical thinking is and the more executives and managers who insist on it, the less they care about the three emotions of their employees."

He says the current era is "an era of sympathy, but also an era of incompatibility," and that executives and managers should know "I" first.

Special Speech The baby shark, which has garnered more than 2.7 billion views since YouTube's release, is so popular around the world that it is on the U.S. Billboard chart. U.S. media outlets including ABC News reported in May that the two-year-old Harper Comparin, who underwent several operations for a congenital deformity, had started walking when the song was played during rehabilitation. In the lyrics to the song, 'doo doo doo doo doo doo' is a technique that repeats meaningless syllables or repeats either onomatopoeic or mimetic words, which Lee says is 'the secret of happiness.'

"Baby shark" fans all over the world begin to dance in the same rhythm when the music is played and a child who can't walk due to birth defects began to walk. Is it simply because the song is fun and good to listen to, What 'secret of happiness' is hidden in this song? If Lyan Lee’s "secret of happiness" could be applied to ordinary workplaces, wouldn't we all be able to achieve better outcomes while enjoying our work?

Session. Staff and company, walking together
to their respective destinations
Era unlike our father generation, who spent his entire life working for his family and organization!
Era, there are few companies that guarantee the retirement age, but there are no employees who want to work at only one company until they retire.

The average number of work year for large companies is decreasing, but those of start-up, small and medium-sized companies are even more radically decreasing. The unemployment rate is said to be too high, but it is so hard to find people at the same time.

They say, "Company is one thing, I am another!" People are seeking jobs that they can live on while doing they like to do. If their job is not such kind, they actively pursue joys outside of the company more than ever before. They say, "I want to do a lot of other things without relation to work .", "I want to live abroad for a year," and "I want to leave the company and do something new I haven't done before." Even with the investment of time and cost, retaining talent is a kind of mission impossible, which makes it more and more difficult for companies to keep technological excellency and corporate culture.

How did the older generation, who are well adapted to digital Nomad life, design the second act of life? Is there any way our companies and their staffs can walk together pursuing their respective destination?
